As we emerge from the pandemic, we are looking for sure footing on a new path forward as neighbors, colleagues, parents, and citizens. The stories of the doctors, nurses, and specialists who led us out of the darkness are a good place to start. With no manual, little margin for error, and no time to spare, the hospital team at the Durham VA rose to the moment by mustering the VA’s hybrid spirit of medical care, government service, and military tradition. In the first season of Fourth Mission, we hear the personal stories of the Durham VA hospital team as they fight their way through the darkest days of the pandemic while searching for any glimmer of light. Listening to their stories, we honor their efforts and sacrifices, and remember our own. Together we can look back to find a better way forward. Hosted by Revere La Noue

La Noue debuted a new show of paintings in Durham, NC called EMOTICON, Feeling Unsimplified. The show was made in collaboration with dancers and choreographers from around the country to explore the infinite expressive nuances of the human body in an era of increasingly abbreviated communication.

La Noue exhibited his first solo show with paintings, prints, and photographs featuring dance and architecture in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
La Noue debuted a series of paintings inspired by his travels to the United Arab Emirates at Art Basel, Miami.

Shortly after finishing his graduate work at Stanford, he launched an art business in New York City with a collection of his work featuring icons of American history and folklore. Within the first year, pieces from the series were hung in public and private collections in 42 states. As a former student-athlete at the University of Notre Dame, La Noue and his work The Original Fighting Irish, Pride and Courage were featured in national media including ESPN and NBC Sports. “A La Gloire” is a print by Revere La Noue as part of a series of artwork inspired by the stories of the “Chasseurs Alpins” or Blue Devils of the French Army who fought in WWI. (prints available)
Revere La Noue was commissioned by Duke University to create a 300 square ft mural for their athletic facilities that honored the history and tradition of the Blue Devils. (prints available)
La Noue unveiled Targyle: series one a collaboration with renowned fashion designer Alexander Julian featuring five 10 ft tapestries, a 200 sq ft canvas, 15 original paintings as well as several prototypes for a line of men’s ties and women’s scarves. Targyle debut Memorial Hall, University of North Carolina.
Roy Williams and Revere La Noue teamed up to raise money for the North Carolina “Catfish Hunter“ chapter of the ALS association and to discuss the creation of a larger golf club.

La Noue was commissioned by Western Michigan University to create a four-story, 6500 sq ft. fine art print of stampeding broncos that wrapped around the corner of a city block in Grand Rapids, Michigan; it is the largest publicly displayed fine art print on record. The project raised over $250,000 for the University’s scholarship fund. (prints available)
Revere La Noue donated three sketches and the bronco-ness concept for use in the new line of Bronconess Wines. 100% of proceeds go toward student scholarships.
La Noue’s exhibition of experimental photography depicting the city of Detroit was part of a show at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum that drew a record number 100,000 visitors in two weeks.

Revere La Noue enjoys exchanging stories and teachable moments with students. He has been invited to give talks and workshops at the University of Notre Dame, Stanford University, Duke University, and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
His recent projects delve into music, technology, sports, and conservation of wilderness both environmental and psychological. He has lived, trained, and worked in Washington, D.C., Palo Alto, NYC, and is now based in Durham, NC working on projects all over the world. Revere La Noue has a Bachelor’s Degree from the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Notre Dame, where he played Division I lacrosse. He has a Master’s Degree from the Documentary Film and Video Program at Stanford University, where he taught introduction film classes and received a Presidential Service award for mentorship. He has additional training from The Pratt School in New York, The Art League in Alexandria, Virginia, The Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C., and Université Catholique De L’Ouest in Angers, France
